In September 2026, I will be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life so far — climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

I will be doing this alongside my 13-year-old son, my sister and niece and a group from Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Oldham as part of their Mandir’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Together we wanted to mark this milestone by taking on an incredible challenge while raising money for causes that mean something deeply personal to us.

My chosen charity is CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

This charity is very close to my heart because through their screening programme a defect in my own heart was discovered. Without organisations like CRY providing these screenings, many heart conditions in young people can remain completely undetected.

CRY works to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, research, and heart screening for young people aged 14–35.

For this challenge, I am aiming to raise £10500.

£3,500 will go towards supporting CRY’s research and vital support services for families affected by cardiac conditions.

£7000 will fund a heart screening event for up to 100 young people aged 14–35, giving them the opportunity to check their heart health and potentially detect hidden conditions early.

Our Kilimanjaro trek will take place from 12th September to 19th September 2026. It will be a huge physical and mental challenge, but every step we take will be in support of helping protect young lives.

If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, your support will make a real difference. You will be helping to fund life-saving research and giving young people the opportunity to have their hearts screened.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting this important cause.
