When Kaitlin Lawrence was just 22 years old, her life changed in an instant.
While playing netball for Surrey Storm in the Super League, Kaitlin collapsed on court. What followed was a diagnosis she never expected: arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM), a genetic heart condition she didn’t know she had.
This meant giving up her dream of playing professionally for Scotland—a devastating blow for any young athlete. But Kaitlin didn’t stop there. She turned her experience into action, successfully campaigning for cardiac screening to be introduced in the Netball Super League next season.
Kaitlin shares her story with Anita, offering hope and raising awareness for others living with inherited heart conditions.
